Amy Shortman

About Amy

Amy is a Chartered Fellow of The Institute of Transport and Logistics and has 20 plus years’ experience within pharmaceutical logistics. During this time, she has worked within operations and commercial roles and is passionate about creating supply chains that ensure product integrity is maintained throughout.

Amy started her career in an operations role for a global specialist clinical trial logistics provider, then went on to establish the UK and Irish operation for one of the world’s leading active temperature control container organisations. She created brand awareness, as well as education to the healthcare and logistics industry, of the increasing need for improved compliance and cool chain management.

Amy has worked within the air, sea and road arena, and has extensive experience of setting up secure supply chains for high-value freight and temperature sensitive freight. Working for a top 3 global third-party logistics (3PL) provider in healthcare and life sciences, specialising in business development and key account management for global clients.

Her penultimate role before joining Overhaul Group, Inc. was with ASC Associates Ltd, which Amy established in 2011 as a global supply chain business services company that specialises in the areas of temperature-sensitive, high-value products. In 2019 Amy joined the Senior Management Team at Overhaul as their Director of Product marketing enabling her to utilise her practical experience of supply chains with her passion for the future and Industry 4.0.

Amy has also been facilitating and training for over 12 years and is an IATA external facilitator for CEIV Pharma.

Georgios Ampartzidis

About Georgios

The World Federation of Hemophilia is an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with hemophilia and other genetic bleeding disorders. As logistics manager for their humanitarian aid program, Georgios is responsible for global management of distribution including implementing distribution plans to fully comply with international regulations as well as maintaining distribution processes and standards that support and demonstrate supply chain security.

While meeting the support needs of patients and treatment centers around the world, Georgios works to implement “state-of-the- art” solutions to fill process gaps and improve supply chain efficiency across the humanitarian program.

About Stephen

As a BioPharmaceutical Sales Professional, Stephen has worked for the past 6 years alongside various leaders in the clinical, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, and academic spaces.  He believes in consultative sales to build strong, cooperative relationships and provide the best solutions possible.  After graduating from Union College with a B.S. in Biology, he started as an associate sales representative in Boston and continued on to manage his own territory at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

He now works at Berlinger USA, partnering with logistics, IRT providers, and clinical trial sponsors to deliver advanced, high quality cold chain solutions, ranging from high level, cloud-based supply chain oversight to last mile product safety indication.

Sascha Peyer

About Sascha

Originally from Switzerland, fluent in German, French, and English, Sascha Peyer has over 30 years of experience in global logistics. Before co-founding SensorTransport with fellow logistics entrepreneur, Rob Haney, Peyer lead a successful career at Panalpina and Toll Global Forwarding.

With a career at Panalpina spanning over 26 years and retiring from the company as Senior VP of Sales and Marketing for the U.S., Peyer experienced all the facets and operations of a global supply chain operating on 6 continents and over 100 countries. He has witnessed every evolution, trends and emerging technology of global logistics since the 90s. Fortune 500 companies have entrusted him with managing their sea, air, and freight imports and exports.

In 2015 Sascha took on an opportunity to work with Toll Global Forwarding (TGF) as their Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. TGF is part of Japan Post Holdings, ranked within the Top 50 of Fortune Global 500 with annual revenue of about $130 billion USD. Peyer stayed in this position for 2 years until 2017 when he set off to dedicate his full time to SensorTransport. Since being at SensorTransport, Peyer has utilized every bit of his career’s experience and industry acumen. As Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, he has embraced the ‘startup hustle’ tackling new challenges and instilling his passion for innovation amongst the team. His leadership is backed with a proven track record of team management, business growth, global implementation, and trust.

Q2 of 2019 started with a 60% growth in customer volume thanks, in large part, to commercial operations with Peyer’s leadership.

Stefan studied technical physics in Munich and worked in the field of mathematical modeling for more than 20 years. SmartCAE develops simulation software for thermal applications like passive shipping systems. The Virtual Cold Chain from SmartCAE, offers the ability to test a shipper against any temperature profile virtually.

It is possible to get the same results in a couple minutes compared to hours or days of chamber testing, allowing a shipper to be tested not only against standard test profiles such as ISTA, Afnor, WHO, etc., but also against real world temperature profiles.

Michael Dee

About Stefan

Michael Dee is Vice President, Global Security at McKesson Corporation.   The Global Security team’s responsibilities include Supply Chain Security, Physical & Electronic Security, Investigations, Crisis Management, the McKesson Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), and general security training and support for all McKesson business units.  Michael joined McKesson’s Global Security team in 2008 as a Regional Security Manager, providing direct support to all business units in the Northeast. In 2014, Michael transitioned to leading the Physical & Electronic Security Programs Group, responsible for managing the design and installation of integrated electronic security systems across the US and in Europe.  In early 2018, he took charge of the Logistics Security Group, and then assumed his current position and responsibilities in early 2019.

Michael attended Fordham University in New York City and obtained a BS in Business Administration.  After graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army (Military Police Corps) and served in Korea and Ft. Bragg, NC.  In 2003, he went to work at Pfizer in their Global Security Department where he managed their Global Security Operations Center and world-wide crisis response operations.

Michael lives in Sag Harbor, NY with his wife Rachel, and their two boys, Coleman and Nathan.  He enjoys running, golf, biking, and waterskiing, and has completed four full marathons and six half-marathons.

About Dave

Dave is the QA Director for Distribution and Logistics for Abbvie’s Global Supply Chain.  His responsibilities include standardization & optimization of quality systems (cGDPs), compliance for supply chain temperature management, ePedigree/Track-n-Trace, serialization, Device UDI, supply chain risk / security and import-export activities related to MOHs.

He has been at Abbott (now Abbvie) 32 years in various roles in Labs, Manufacturing QA, and plant maintenance, validation & engineering. Previous to Abbvie he was the lab manager for Cabrini Hospital in Chicago

Mark Russo

About Mark

Mark is the SVP of Weather Operations at Riskpulse, a supply chain risk analytics
company that helps its clients and their partners increase the predictability and stability of
their financial and physical operations globally. Based in Chicago, he ensures weather
forecast accuracy, product timeliness, and customer-focused impact-oriented
communication for supply chains, business operations, and commodity trading/hedging.
He also is an American Meteorological Society Certified Consulting Meteorologist.

After graduating from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in
Meteorology, Russo has spent the past 21 years applying global weather and climate to
supply chains, agriculture, and energy. Prior to joining Riskpulse in 2013, Russo worked
for Chesapeake Energy and Citigroup/Smith Barney where he provided accurate and timely
weather forecasts and noted climate trends directly to high stakes commodity hedgers,
traders, brokers, and analysts. He also has appeared on CNBC, the Today Show, and CNN
and currently is a weekly guest on Illinois Public Radio’s Closing Market Report.

Throughout his professional career, Russo has been active in the American Meteorological
Society. Not only has he served in the private sector mentorship program and on the energy
committee but also as President of the local Chicago Chapter. Additionally, he has advised
the National Academies of Science/National Research Council regarding NOAA weather
and climate data and has presented to numerous agriculture and energy associations.
Outside of work, Mark is a huge sports fan, especially baseball, and resides in the western
suburbs of Chicago with his wife and three children.
